What does it take to become ICT Student?

As we all know, we are now living in computer world. We are very lucky to have this kind of world we are living. As we observe, almost everything that we are using now is monitored and connected to computer. Even our gadgets, they are just like computers.
We can now do our research works through the use of computers. And that is because, we know how to use these things. We have now the knowledge to use and operate computers.
We cannot do things if we have no knowledge about computer. So, with the help of our teachers, we already know the what they call ICT or Information and Communication Technology. And with that, we also have the ability to apply the things we learned about ICT.
We can now say that ICT contributed a lot of things. It enhances our knowledge and ability to operate or use computers. ICT is important for us students because these will take us in a higher quality of education.

My Dream, My Future

We all have our own dreams. Maybe a dream for ourselves only or for our families. A dream is the desire for personal achievement. It provides the motivation and determination necessary to achieve a particular end or condition. Ambitious people are characterized by their strong desire for attainment, power, or superiority. Ambition can also be defined as the object/subject of this endeavor.
I have only one dream. One dream that can build our family strong. A dream that will make our life better to live in. A dream that will not make us sad and most of all, a dream that can change the quality of our life. This is my dream. It's just one only but it can make us all happy. And this dream will make us smile everyday. So this time, I'm just praying and hoping that this dream of mine will come true.I believe that our dreams do come true. This is the reason why I am trying my best to fulfill my dream and to aim with my goal.
We must have our own dreams. A dream that will truly make us happy. A dream that can change your life from a bad person into a good example.

CHANGE: It Starts With Me

Every new year comes, we are always saying that "I want to change". But as days goes by, we already forgot this saying. We cannot avoid the things we used to do always. Some people say that its hard to make changes especially when it comes to attitudes. But, Others say that its not that its hard to change. It's just easy if you really want to change.
Change should be done first with ourselves. If you really want to change, it should start with yourself. We all know that it is good to change ourselves especially on our attitudes. We should always bear in mind that if an individual changes, his/her life will change also. So it means that if we change our bad personalities into a good one, we can say that our lives will also change. We cannot deny the truth that every people must change and it should start with him/her alone.
In every step to change, we should always start it with ourselves. And maybe if we are sure already that ourselves has changed, we can already continue changing through other people.

Kannawidan: The Ylocos Festival

Ilocos Sur  is a province of the Philippines located in the Ilocos Region in Luzon. Vigan City, located on the mouth of the Mestizo River is the provincial capital. The City of Vigan  is a 5th class city in the province of Ilocos Sur, Philippines. It is the capital of the Province of Ilocos Sur. The city is located on the western coast of the large island of Luzon, facing the West Philippine Sea.
Ilocos Sur has a rich heritage and unique culture that are to be preserved for the next generations because it is observed that many of these traditions, songs, dances and other Ilocano culture are not familiar to the younger generations already. There is a need to evaluate the different products of the different municipalities and the agricultural products and livestock of the farmers and fisher folks. Because of this, the provincial government of Ilocos Sur conceived a festival that will highlight these culture and traditions and attract local and foreign tourists as well. They call it the KANNAWIDAN Ylocos Festival.
This festival is also a time to commemorate the anniversary of Ilocos Sur as a province since it was separated on February 3, 1818. So, this festival was celebrated every year.

NEW YEAR, NEW ME!

New Year is the time at which a new calendar year begins and the calendar's year count is incremented. New Year brings with it new hopes and new opportunities to explore. New year for me is a blessing. Others say, new year is new life and I agree on that. When we say new year, it is another year to start again new life.

Another fresh new year is here . Another year to live, to banish worry, doubt and fear, to love and laugh and give! This bright new year is given to me to live each day with happiness. To daily grow and try to be my highest and my best year! I have given again the opportunity to right some wrongs, or simply, to change the bad attitudes. I want that this year will make my life better than the other years and will appear the new me. Living as I am is simple. I want to live this year as if it is the best year.

New year can make people change. It can bring the best of their lives. So, I think new year is truly a blessing for every people.

Keeping in Mind our Mother Tongue

Mother tongue is the language a person has learned from birth or within the critical period, or that a person speaks the best and so is often the basis for sociolinguistic identity. Sometimes, there can be more than one mother tongue, when the child's parents speak different languages. Mother tongue of a child is part of their personal, social and cultural identity.  Another impact of the first language is that it brings about the reflection and learning of successful social patterns of acting and speaking. It is basically responsible for differentiating the linguistic competence of acting.
Sometimes the term native language is used to indicate a language that a person is as proficient in as a native individual of that language's "base country", or as proficient as the average person who speaks no other language but that language. Sometimes the term mother tongue or mother language is used for the language that a person learned as a child at home. Children growing up in bilingual homes can, according to this definition, have more than one mother tongue or native language.
To a person his mother tongue is a “blessing in disguise”. It is not merely a time-table subject in his education but is forced upon him from all sides. It is learned by both the direct or conscious and the indirect or unconscious method. The mother tongue is an indispensable instrument for the development of the intellectual, moral and physical aspects of education. It is a subject thought and by which other subjects can be tackled, understood and communicated.

Equal Rights, Equal Oppurtunities

All of us learn about the world from what they see of the world, and unfortunately this means they will learn about discrimination and injustice simply from having it occur around them. But adults can help children to understand equal rights by discussing the subject in an age-appropriate manner.
It can be hard for us to understand broad terms like "equal rights", "equal opportunities". Instead of focusing on this vocabulary adults can simply make sure that children understand what it means to show respect for all people. Helping others understand the golden rule - to treat others as they themselves would like to be treated - is a good starting point for discussions about respecting others.
Although it can be difficult it is important to stick up for your equal opportunities. Any kind of discrimination should not be tolerated and the more you speak out, the more the message will be heard.
